Example:

A quick example: Let’s say you have a blog and you’ve written a post titled “What is Digital Marketing?” In this case, both “digital marketing” and even the full phrase “what is digital marketing” are keywords. Basically, they’re what people type into Google when searching for information on that topic.

What is the Meaning of Keywords in SEO?

Now, when we talk from an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) perspective, keywords have a slightly different meaning. In the SEO world, your keywords are the words or phrases you want your site or page to appear when people search on Google.

Example:

Let’s say you write a blog about digital marketing. You’d like your site to appear when someone searches for “what is digital marketing,” “digital marketing course,” or even “digital marketing 2025.” These are your target keywords. Essentially, they’re the search terms you want to rank for.
